Description
The Curriculum Outdoors Qualification is designed for qualified instructors and practitioners who have completed the Survival School Level 2 Bushcraft, Survival, and Wilderness Living practical training and assessment. This course builds on those skills, enabling participants to independently deliver outdoor lessons linked to the National Curriculum.
If you have previously completed the Survival School Level 2, 4, or 5 assessments, you can enrol directly by providing your certificate.
Course Details:
- Cost: £155 per person (includes all equipment, resources, and certification)
- Catering: This course is self-catering. Please bring a packed lunch, refreshments, and suitable outdoor clothing.
Course Modules:
- Unit 01: Lesson Planning
- Unit 02: Risk Assessing
- Unit 03: Site Preparation Safety
- Unit 04: Equipment
- Unit 05: Litigation, Emergency, and Accident Reporting
The course includes a day of guided learning, followed by a submission of:
- An example of a Risk Assessment you have created
- An example of a National Curriculum linked Lesson Plan you have developed
- A Site/Venue Inspection, including area layouts and safety instructions
- An example of how you intend to record/report accidents, incidents, and near misses
Instructor Support:
The course will be led by experienced Level 4 and Level 5 Instructors who are already delivering National Curriculum Outdoor topics in schools. They will guide you through the modules and provide the knowledge and experience needed to gain this qualification.

- Your typical instructor rucksack, including a first aid kit
- Seat
- Notepad and pencil
- Lunch and refreshments
- Appropriate outdoor clothing for any weather
- Any equipment you already own that could be useful when working with groups (no need to buy new items)
